Queens: Skate, Dine, Bowl relaunches the epic ICE KARTING

The Race Returns … Feel the need for speed

This August sees the return of Ice Karting to QUEENS: Skate Dine Bowl. After an extensive two-month refurbishment of their famous ice rink – originally built in October 1930, QUEENS: Skate Dine Bowl brings the revs back to the rink with the relaunch of its infamous Ice Karting.

Racing at up to 35kph on specially modified go karts, the ice brings in new challenges to the most seasoned racing expert. Up to eight drivers at one time will battle it out using only their skill to outwit the competition. Racing laps around the ice, drivers will put their drifting skills to the test battling their way in to leader board positioning’s.

From the beginning of August, and running every Tuesday and Sunday evenings, Ice Karting will take place on the 12,000ft2 Ice-rink.  Guests are invited to heed the need… the need for speed and race against like-minded speed freaks.

After a thrilling race guests can refresh and celebrate the glory or commiserate their failure at the brand new MEATliquor Queensway inside QUEENS: Skate Dine Bowl – with its formidable burgers and fortifying, stylish drinks menu it is a must for foodies everywhere.

The incredible addition to West London features eating, drinking, bowling, skating, a retro-arcade and now the ultimate thrill seekers activity – Go–Karting on Ice!

Ends.

About: QUEENS is part of the Bourne Capital Group. Queens launched in 1930 as London’s premier indoor ice rink, and originally spanned the entire basement space. The site was transformed by Robert Bourne in 1994 into an eclectic leisure venue with the introduction of 12 bowling lanes and a games area. 22 years later the venue has been reimagined by Robert’s son Ben, now MD of the group, and will once again offer a unique and best in class leisure experience.

Other group leisure venues include Ronnie Scotts, Cheyne Walk Brasserie as well as the Old Vic & Criterion Theatres.

MEATliquor: MEATliquor was started by Yianni Papoutsis and Scott Collins. It moved from a burger van – Meatwagon – to the near-legendary #meateasy pop-up which opened for 4 months, in New Cross, back in January 2011. The first permanent MEATliquor followed swiftly in November 2011 and there are now 11 sites across the UK, including London in W1, Islington, Hoxton, East Dulwich, Brixton, Croydon and Covent Garden – as well as sites in Brighton, Bristol and Leeds.
