Cheval des Andes

The wines of this nearly 200-year old Bordeaux estate of Chateau Cheval Blanc have long graced the best wine lists in the world. In search of an exceptional terroir, the winemaking team from Cheval Blanc began making wines in the Andes, seeking to create a new world heir to their exceptional Premier Grand Cru Classé of St. Emillion.  They found it in Terrazas de los Andes, an Argentine winery specialising in premium high altitude wines, using French origin varieties planted in 1929.

An exhilarating blend of an illustrious past and inspiring future that offers wine lovers the full, rich flavours of the finest Argentinian grape varieties blended with the skill and artistry of Bordeaux tradition, Cheval des Andes is a refined, elegant, bold and vigorous wine: the grand cru of the Andes. A unique and intense taste experience, Cheval des Andes 2011 combines Argentina’s iconic Malbec with the classic Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Powerful and elegant, boasting an attractive deep red colour with purple shades, it surprises with its balanced complexity, aromatic precision and presence of soft and delicate tannins.
