ISLAND RECORDS hosts all-star DJ line up to for the Notting Hill Carnival with a bank holiday blowout at QUEENS: Skate Dine Bowl and MEATliquor

This August bank holiday, ISLAND Records and QUEENS will host an epic Notting Hill Carnival party like never before. For the whole weekend (Friday-Monday), Island Records will be bringing carnival’s musical soul to QUEENS with a line-up of top DJ’s playing back-to-back sets on a specially built island DJ booth, complete with palm trees & a beach shack – in the middle of QUEENS’ 12,000m2 ice-rink!
Island Record’s two beers, Jamaican Porter & Session IPA, will be flowing and MEATliquor will be cooking up a storm! Perfectly positioned, QUEENS is on the fringe of Notting Hill Carnival, this party is not one to be missed.
Open to the public for the the whole weekend (Friday-Monday), however for the Carnival Sunday 27th & Monday 28th August, the event is TICKETS ONLY, from 11am and running on ‘till at least 11pm, this special party promises serious Carnival vibes with a cool difference. Guests can party to an all-star line-up of DJ’s and artists, whilst skating around the ‘island’ or enjoy a game of bowling on one of QUEENS amazing twelve lanes. For those wanting to hangout away from the carnival crowds, MEATliquor’s bar, lounge or diner will be ideal place for ticking back. So, if you’re planning on heading to Notting Hill Carnival, then shack up at QUEENS to pit-stop, pause or party!

As an 80s baby growing up in Liverpool, Trudy’s sets are heavily inspired by her exposure to garage, 90¹s dance, “Scouse House” and techno. Working for record labels in recent years, the rise of trap and alternative house / RnB has also influenced her sound.
Expect sets balanced with a selection of new tunes to inspire her listeners, and some trusted classics to keep the party going ‘Trudy Knight’.

LUDO is an eclectic DJ coming straight from California via Italy, mixing everything from hip hop, to Afrobeats to gqom, footwork to dancehall – if it’s got a strong beat then you can expect to hear it in her sets.

Island Record’s latest collaboration VINTAGE REMIX will be inviting guest DJ’s from the hottest festival fields to join us out on the ice for sounds from the 40’s to the Naughties, including some of the greatest vintage party music of all time given a contemporary spin.

3pm – 9pm Limited Mitch heads up the London based label/collective Limited Health – their Radar Radio show has fast become one of the must-listen sessions on the station for its exciting blend of underground hip hop and R&B, alongside shows for the likes of Rinse FM and Reprezent Radio. A hugely experienced DJ away from his radio and label work, Limited Mitch fuses diverse club rhythms with the sound his collective has become synonymous for to create something new, fresh and completely danceable.

Leigh Taurean is a London based DJ/Producer specialising in Jackin’ House, Bassline & Tech.
As a DJ she has achieved notable sets both across the capital and in Ibiza including events for Pacha London, Egg London, Ministry of Sound, Lightbox, Pukka Up as well as Sankey’s Ibiza & Ibiza Rocks to name but a few.
You can also catch her bi-weekly show ‘Taurus Live Sessions’ streamed live on Chew TV via the LSA Live channel on Fridays from 8.00pm.
Her debut original release, a catchy bassline banger entitled ‘What You Got’, is out soon on Right Recordings as part of a host of other talent on the LSA compilation vol 1. with further productions in the pipeline for her debut EP.
3pm – 9pm : Callum Ross & Johnny Brocklehurst – DOUBLE Bill Island Records Sound System
Callum & Johnny aka ‘On Spec’ are arguably London’s most exciting & forward thinking dj duo. The 2 have played some of the biggest nights in UK & Europe, including Glastonbury, Fabric, Field Day & Outlook. Expect to hear & eclectic mix of Hip Hop, RNB and Afrobeat. FYI – You will be calling in sick the next day, as the bank holiday starts & ends here.

QUEENS is part of the Bourne Capital Group. Queens launched in 1930 as London’s premier indoor ice rink, and now features 12 bowling lanes and arcade areas. Other Bourne Group leisure venues include Ronnie Scotts, Cheyne Walk Brasserie as well as the Old Vic & Criterion Theatres.
MEATliquor: MEATliquor was started by Yianni Papoutsis and Scott Collins. It moved from a burger van – Meatwagon – to the near-legendary #meateasy pop-up which opened for 4 months, back in January 2011. The first permanent MEATliquor followed swiftly in November 2011 and there are now 11 sites across the UK.
